Ik doe mee aan de dag van de ambachten. Op zondag 16 november openen ambachtslieden over heel België gratis de deuren van hun atelier. Het ideale moment om eens een kijkje te nemen achter de schermen!

Kom langs in mijn atelier op zondag 16/11 13-19u in Continental, 1e verdiep, De Brouckèreplein 41, 1000 Brussel. In mijn atelier kan je de werking bezichtigen van verschillende gereedschappen en toestellen om edelmetalen te bewerken, alsook is mijn collectie bewonderen. Ideaal voor de feestdagen. Neem je te repareren / op te frissen, uit edelmetalen juwelen mee (bv. zwart zilver, krasjes,...) en wie weet zal ik dit ter plekke onder handen nemen (afhankelijk van de drukte).

I made these rings with the ancient lost wax casting technique. This technique is about 6500 years old and goes like this: I make a ring in wax material, then a plaster material goes around it so the shape is defined. The plaster hardens. Then the silver or gold goes in the place where the wax was. And tadaam! We have ourselves a solid piece of jewelry ✨

The process is simplified to explain! It takes more extra steps, time and attention.
